Our History
Pretty Purposed was founded in 2014, in Petersburg, Virginia. The founder, Bianca Myrick, a native of Petersburg, Virginia began volunteering in the community with a goal of supporting young women and girls. In January of 2015, Bianca and several women serving as mentors, began the first girls group in the community with just seven initial young ladies. By 2016, Pretty Purposed Inc, a 501 c(3) organization was born. What started with just a small group of women and girls, has expanded to serving girls across multiple community based sites and schools throughout the Southside Virginia region.
